I had the pleasure of going to the Immersive Van Gogh Experience in Charlotte this past weekend. I highly recommend getting the "basic flex" ticket. Basic Flex means you have flexibility with your assigned arrival time on your ticket. I personally do not see the advantage of the expensive VIP tickets. It can get hot in the building but they do have air pumping into the warehouse where it is held. They do have a bar that allows drinks to be brought into the theater. I strongly urge you to get a nice cold beverage for your viewing experience. I also recommend only entering the theater when the video experience is about to begin. I noticed some people entering half-way and staying for a second cycle of the video. If you have audio sensory issues I recommend bringing noise-cancelling headphones or earplugs. As for the video experience, please be mindful that this is THE experience. It is not a preamble to something else. It is a beautiful full sensory experience and it is what you are paying for. Some similar exhibits (i.e Bowie is) include a museum style exhibit as well but this video experience is truly the main event. Having said that, it is still worth the price. Plus they have some lovely local art in and outside the venue. Truly a welcome summer addition to Charlotte.

My daughter's Autism Diagnosis and the adventure since then has informed every bit of who I am. My art illustrates this shift in identity. I am less tethered to the idea of perfection. It has allowed for so much joy and color to come into my life. Thank you Sofie. Click for the link to the family blog we kept in the early days of our Autism journey.
